Becton School
Our Becton school provision is based within the Becton Centre for Children and Young People, a residential Tier 4 CAMHS unit which was opened in September 2010. The Becton Centre a regional service for children and young people have complex and chronic mental health issues and are based in one of the four lodges.
- Amber Lodge is an assessment unit for KS1 and 2 pupils to diagnose their mental health difficulty.
- Ruby Lodge is also an assessment unit for pupils of all ages, who also have additional SEND needs.
- Emerald Lodge and Sapphire Lodge are general mental health wards and support pupils in recovering from their complex and chronic conditions in Key Stages 1-5.
The school operates within a multi-disciplinary framework; working closely with a wide range of professional including psychiatrists, psychologists, doctors, nurses and therapists.

Sapphire Lodge
Sapphire Lodge is a 14 bed inpatient unit at the Becton Centre for young people aged 14 -18 years who are experiencing complex emotional, mental health and behavioural difficulties. The NHS leaflet for the lodge can be accessed via the link below:
Emerald Lodge
Emerald Lodge is a 9 bed inpatient and 3 day patient unit at the Becton Centre for young people aged up to 14 years who are experiencing complex emotional, mental health and behavioural difficulties. The NHS leaflet for the lodge can be accessed via the link below:
Ruby Lodge
Ruby Lodge is a 7 bed dual diagnosis inpatient unit for young people aged 8-18 years with a combination of mental health and learning difficulties. The NHS leaflet for the lodge can be accessed via the link below:
Amber Lodge
Amber Lodge is an 8, day patient unit for young people aged 5-12, most of whom have an Education, Health and Care plan and complex emotional and behavioural difficulties. Educational Pathways
There are 3 educational pathways for pupil's at Becton: Stabilisation, Engagement and Learning. The pupil's health needs will dictate the pathway that they are on. Please see the image below for more information.
